World’s largest terrestrial crab The island country of Vanuatu lies northeast of Australia and until its independence in 1980 was known as the New Hebrides Condominium – an unusually jointly administered overseas territory of France and the United Kingdom. Subsequently, the Vatu replaced the two colonial currencies, New Hebrides Franc and Australian Dollar. This is the complete first coin set of the Vatu. The obverses feature the interesting national coat of arms with a man, a vulcano and a boar’s tusk.
