Sahara The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic is a former Spanish colony in northwest Africa and, among other things, the habitat of nomadic desert dwellers. Bedouins roamed the land as early as the first century BC and, riding their dromedaries, even troubled the legions of the Roman Empire. This is the first coin set of the Sahrawi Peseta. The national coat of arms is shown on the obverses.
